I, 1st Connecticut Heavy Artillery in June 1862. He did not muster at that rank, but was appointed Lieutenant Colonel of the 14th Infantry when it was organized at Hartford on August 23, 1862, less than one month before the battle of Antietam. On the CampaignHe was in command of the Regiment while Colonel Morris took command of the Brigade. The rest of the WarHe was honorably discharged on disability 20 April 1863 due to wounds received at Fredericksburg, 13 December 1862.
