On 5/7/1861, he mustered into "F" Co. Connecticut 2nd Infantry.
He was Mustered Out on 8/7/1861 at New Haven, CT

On 9/11/1862, he was commissioned into "E" Co. Connecticut 2nd Heavy Artillery.
He was Killed on 10/19/1864 at Cedar Creek, VA
