Very unusual view of a Union Officer wearing a Lincoln Mourning Ribbon and Corps Badge on his hat with a Mexican Photographer from Monteray backmark.  Most likely a soldier serving with the Union forces that were landed below the Rio Grande with the intention of taking Brownsville in 1863 which held southern Tx and the Border for the balance of the war.   Neat combination.
